Florida Attorney General looking into Manhunt 2 for the Wii - Image 1Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum has to look into Manhunt 2 by Rockstar Games for the Wii. It is not known whether the letter that Jack Thompson sent to him and Florida Governor Charlie Crist on May 12 had anything to do with it, though quite a few people believe so.

McCollum is concerned about the use of the Wiimote in the game and the actions that the players will be performing to pull of some of the kills in the game. The PS2 and PSP versions of the game are apparently unaffected by his investigation regarding the game. He justified his actions by releasing a statement which Game Informer was able to get.

Attorney General Bill McCollum is concerned about any games which may instill violence in children, particularly games that encourage children to engage in violent behavior, even in simulation. He believes it is important to help protect children from influences which may introduce violence into their lives and stresses the importance of parental involvement in the efforts to keep these influences out of our homes and away from our families.

McCollum's intentions are good, and it would really be great if he would do something about controlling who buys the game. It was given a mature rating for a reason and any measures that would be implemented to keep this game out of children's hands will be welcome by not only parents but even a majority of gamers. You see, most gamers don't have a problem with the ratings or the restrictions, only with uninformed decisions and actions. If you want to read more on this, be sure to click on our read link.
