Orb

The first screenshots of the Nintendo Wii title Orb have been released today. Orb, the product of Crossbeam studios, is an action adventure game set in a large fantasy world called Delphire. The developers took inspiration from game titles such as as The Legend of Zelda and Final Fantasy, so if you enjoy these titles, as many current-generation Nintendo console owners do, then this game will be well suited to your taste. Crossbeam studios are also looking to take advantage of the WiiÂ’s fresh and unique control scheme in ways that are 'yet to be announced'.

This being their first big release title, Crossbeam studio's are a little unnerved. “Releasing screens of our first titles has been very nerve-racking. We've gone from just working on the publisher demo, to full on crunch time over the past week testing and tweaking our scripts and such,” Crossbeam Studios director Greg Szemiot told AMN Wii on Tuesday. Enjoy the eye candy!

OMG

I thought this indy game would never see the light of day! Looks like they still have no published but they have got farther then I have suspected. I wonder if they have a devkit... I wonder if they can publish themselves? There are so many companies publishing themselves over Steam that I believe digital distributing is a great way for indy game companies to publish games that no company will. Nintendo WiFi could be there only hope...

no. 6

Take a step outside, yet? I know you're just a dumb***** American kid, but I've seen better trolls at Joystiq. May I lead you in the direction of some hentai sites? Early PC version, whatever the ***** that means. It's a ***** developer, too.
by - 2006-05-31 10:25:56

by - 2006-05-31 10:46:59
What?

These are early PC screens. They look like crap. Why release screens that can only hurt the games rep?
by - 2006-05-31 10:51:56
wow................

nice graphics for xbox 360 dont u think (lol) looks like playstation 1 rofl....
by - 2006-05-31 11:09:39
ok

#11 u retarded fanboy. it makes you look really stupid when u just post crap that doesnt make sense and then not back it up with any kind of info. can u name even one 360 game that looks like that? (lol)? dont u even know that the 360 games are going to DRAMASTICLY improve? its not the hardware in the 360. its the developers and time they need. when i get my wii, im going to be playing the more mature titles. not too much of a fan with kid games except wario and super smash bros. im going red steel and metroid. maybe zelda.
by - 2006-05-31 11:31:19
hahah

i love the shenmue style graphics ^_^
by - 2006-05-31 13:40:25

"when i get my wii, im going to be playing the more mature titles. not too much of a fan with kid games except wario and super smash bros. im going red steel and metroid. maybe zelda." What the hell is a 'kid game'? People using that term sound no older than 14. RED STEEL IS A KID GAME. NO BLOOD.

This game looks like *****...MMOs are for PCs..

Moronic fan-boys

Gamecube http://media.cube.ign.com/media/734/734926/imgs_1.html I here these are from the Gamecube version http://wii.qj.net/New-Zelda-Twilight-Princess-Screenshots/pg/49/aid/48483 A blind man can tell you that a PC version of a game that doesn't even have a publisher and may never even come out will not determine the graphic capabilities of of a system. All others are blind fan-boys....
by ssj3fox - 2006-05-31 15:11:15
Also

Red Steel will have Blood http://www.qj.net/Red-Steel-to-Actually-Have-Blood/pg/49/aid/44314 Kid games http://www.thewiire.com/features/96/1/Nintendolosophy_Honesty_is_the_Best_Policy So what's the difference between Nintendo and Pixar? Doesn't Pixar make productions for children? Does the producer of Toy Story and Finding Nemo share Nintendo's label? The main audience for most Pixar films is indeed comprised of the younger generation. Children of all shapes and sizes eagerly rush off to the movies - with guardians often in tow - to see the latest Pixar release when it comes to town. Although all the films carry different plots, characters and scenarios, a central theme and a certain magic is present in every Pixar movie. Sounds rather similar to many Nintendo games, doesn't it? However, what's most interesting to note is that despite competition from rival studio DreamWorks, which tends to produce more pop culture-oriented CGI films utilizing perhaps more powerful technology, Pixar's 'youthful' productions don't simply draw the younger demographic. Speaking from experience, people from all walks of life, whether they be adolescents, single mothers, married couples or grandparents, are prone to attending these visual entendres. Best of all, as far as I'm aware, there's little to no shame in admitting one traveled to watch a Pixar movie, whether by themselves, with their spouse and/or with children. Amazingly, Pixar has managed to solidify itself as an image of a company which crafts products that are safe and enjoyable for children, yet at the same time can be equally entertaining for older individuals and family members without the need to include 'mature' elements. It is one thing to be blind but a blind fan-boy?

I hope

I hope that they use the Wii's graphix to its potential...I mean, at least run the graphix to Xbox's potential! However, I am really sure this game will be awesome, I've read some stuff about this studio and they sound like they have 3 aces, this is just the 1st one
by - 2006-05-31 19:30:40
Whoa..ugly!

We better tell this company to go back to drawing board and do it again! It is really crap and so ugly! Ugh!
by - 2006-05-31 21:05:04

I was kidding about the Red Steel comment. I visit daily. Thanks for all the information about Pixar, though.
by ssj3fox - 2006-05-31 21:43:16
Doh

I jumped the gun... (20) Also I believe in indy developers. I don't know what these guys can do but if Introversion Software can make Darwinia a hit then this game could be one too... http://www.darwinia.co.uk/

GoNintendo.com

If you go on over to gonintendo.com, they have a written statement from the developer of this game, informing us that these screens are nothing what the actual game looks like. Apparently, real screens will be released next week.
by - 2006-06-01 05:38:03
Apparently you guys cant read

these arent even Wii screens, why dont you guys stop running around like idiots screaming bloody murder about it. this is what sucks about the internet these days. Fanboys I dont mind as much as eveyrone else whos a damn negative drone that feels like they have to try and convince everyone else that the sky is falling and this sucks and that sucks. When did everyone get so jaded and negative? and its not even just here on QJ its EVERYWHERE. Every forum,it doesnt even matter what its about.. everyone on the net is like this now. Everyone just b@cthes all day and starts flame wars. its saddening.
