Wii

According to Matt Casamassina's blog, final Wii hardware has been shipped to developers and publishers. This means that all the hardware has finally been finalized and production of the unit has probably started. The wireless Wavebird's receiver should fit with no problem in the GCN controller ports. The front flap on the Wii hides an SD slot and the SYNCHRO button - so no more speculation, please! It looks like the self-loading disc slot also works fine with absolutely no jerkiness! Hopefully we'll get to see it all first-hand in our homes soon!

I want a Wii so much I am almost willing to pay for a few games

» Nice

I think the Wii will be very successful playing off the Nintendo franchise. Nintendo is still king of portable gaming and they "share" the market with the PSP.

Nintendo is looking to sell at a reasonable price. Children and adults are the market while the teenagers and hardcore adult gamers will probablt overlook this console until more interesting games are released.

I for one am anticipating the Wii because of the fact that its a very party friendly system like all Nintendo Systems.

» hmm

I suppose the Wii's final designs were made, but i STILL HOPE AND PRAY THAT THE CONTROLLER IS MADE RECHARGEABLE, NOT BATTERY-CONSUMING.

PLEASE NINTENDO DONT BETRAY US!

» I suppose the kids should be happy now

but I wanted to buy a wii and they simply discouraged me... I mean, I only see kids games, and casual games, only red steel capture my attention a little...

I'm gonna stick to sony I suppose, it's not there's a choice, I mean, wii is too casual for the hard core gamer I am, the xbox360 have only some games ( I dislike sports games ) and the ps3 cost 100$ more than an x360 but launch games already take 22gig! and the games are too great! ( can be a problem also, because I won't be able to buy all the new games with my low money account :( , maybe with some more credit cards... lol, just joking )

» A Wii bit pesimistic

So what the heck are the final specs of Wii?

ATI made a comment themselves that the Wii is a lot more powerful than we think. Osoka Tunaka (or whatever his name is) said that Wii is more powerful than 360. And also, does wii use any augmented reality or holografic projection (i hope so cause i dont want this to be just another gamecube with more ram + unique controller)

» I got two words for you

Metroid, Zelda! 30 games by the end of the year and two of the first are killer-apps. They may have to delay one just so they don't compete! Also Far Cry could be great on Wii and Elebits looks like the next Katamari.

Metal Slug Anthology

Red Steel

Trauma Center: Second Opinion

Excite Truck

Need for Speed: Carbon

WarioWare

Then there is

Disaster: Day of Crisis

Project H.A.M.M.E.R.

Heroes

Fire Emblem

Battalion Wars

Super Smash Bros.

Prince of Persia

How can any of you be as childish as you seem to be? And I just can't understand wtf the commenter number two tried to tell. Like, try to type next time, don't just put some random words in teh message... FFS.

» You have to excuse all those PS3 fanatics...

they are ~12-16 years old and want to get a PS3 for christmas.

They never got their money from going to work... so they dont know what 600€/$ are.

If they would have to work for the PS3 they would probably not talk trash like this about a cheaper console that probably gives more fun at lower costs. (Yes, I think you get more for your money, if you only want to play in your freetime!)

Damn... I mean... I could buy a used car for that money...

by random dude - 2006-08-27 03:29
» pretty true, except

you could buy like at least 6 used cars with that money! ;P our used saab(dunno the model or anything like that, very old but works fine) was as expensive as 50 €!
