After Years product info - Image 1The WiiWare direct sequel to Cecil and Rosa's crystal-hunting adventure, Final Fantasy IV: The After Years, just updated its official site and we now have a better idea of what the game will look like. But the interesting part here is that the product information reveals that After Years is gonna have support for 1-4 players, which should add a great twist to the gameplay which we still know very little about right now.

Would be interesting how four players into an RPG would translate into, especially since the battle system is still pretty vague. According to the site, a new Band System will allow characters to perform a new attack at the cost of MP, which sounds a lot like the Dual and Triple Techs we've seen in Chrono Trigger, only there would be more people controlling the characters this time around. The Moon will also influence the new battle system, depending on its phase, may strengthen or weaken attacks and/or magic for you or for your foes.

Other cool info is that some of the characters from the original FFIV will be returning, like the martial arts expert, Yang; the summoner Rydia; the two-sword ninja, Edge; the slapstick twins Palom and Porom; and even Edward, the bard. There are a lot more characters coming to join the party, but Square Enix hasn't revealed them just yet.

Still no word on a release estimate, but you guys know we'll let you know once we get word, right? Until then, keep checking back with us here on QJ.

SE making this exclusive to the WiiWare is totally stupid, at least make it for PSN and XBL like Crystal Defenders, but make it a worldwide release
