Fils-Aime: Wii will surpass Xbox 360 in total U.S. sales by June - Image 1The online website of financial and data company Bloomberg is currently running an article about the upward trend of stocks in Asia and Europe.

Companies mentioned include Nestle, Vedanta, and Nintendo. According to the article, these stock rise in other major areas will counter the much feared U.S. economic slowdown.

Regarding the video game industry on competition and its place in these matters, Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime had this to say:

Nintendo, which counts the Americas as its biggest market, advanced 4.1 percent to 53,300 yen, the highest since January 23.

The Wii will surpass the Xbox 360 in total U.S. sales by June, helped by video-game titles including Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

Well, those are pretty strong words from the outspoken Nintendo official. Microsoft, on the other hand, has been doing a lot of tricks to stay competitive like offering price cuts to some territories.

» so?

If they can sell a few more consoles with no decent games, what's the point? It's even debatable if they would have sold this many if it wasn't for the faked supply problems to increase demand. The Wii's success is based solely on gimmicky controllers and overused first party mascots in a number of uninspired game series that go on forever with few innovations.

Now the XBOX 360 is in short supply in many places. Are they learning from Nintendo's bad habits?

» WTF!?!?!?!?!

A VERY SAD and pathetic fanboy.

He seems to think that people buy what they don't want. He is not capable of understanding that REGARDLESS of how he feels about the Wii, other people feel differently.

I doubt the average person buys a Wii just to put it in the closet. The Wii has been extremely successful and he just can't deal with that.

On to the 360. He obviously picks and chooses what he wants to believe. There have been numerous articles specifically quoting MS reps claiming to have goofed in the supply department. MS claims it was an oversight on their part. MS has "basically" told the WORLD that the short supply is NOT due to demand but that's it do to their own mistake.

» I agree with Common Sense.

The Wii is a piece of s*** and I own one. Nintendo doesnt even try to appeal to hardcore gamers and instead only make games for kids and families. The graphics suck, there is no online play, and most of the old games that you can download arent nearly as good as I remember them. If you have at least reached puberty you should only buy a PS3 or a 360 because they are the only ones that will make games for people that are old enough to tie their shoes. Nintendo hasnt created a new franchise in 20 years. They are just living off of Mario and Zelda.

ISOHaven thank you finaly someone who hasnt got a 360 stuck up their arse.

I still dont get why you fanboys need to bash other consoles becasue its selling better then the one you have?

Or maybe your just scared of change?

Now "yworob" you've just proven how little you know.

The Wii isnt perfect but neither is the 360 or PS3 no console is perfect, i could list alot of things wrong with it but i try not to ***** about a console.

"The graphics suck"

Honestly i couldnt give a F@@K about the graphics ,

i look at the gameplay rather then the graphics, if a game has both then even better but id rather play a game with ok/crap graphics and good gameplay then a game with stunning graphics and crap gameplay that id get bored after a minute with.

"no online play, "

Just shows how little knowlege you have

i sugggest you read up a little more ;)

"most of the old games that you can download arent nearly as good as I remember them"

Huh?

They havnt changed, iv downloaded super mario bro's and its still the same as it was years ago.

"They are just living off of Mario and Zelda."

I was tempted to make a list of games but that would be wasting my time which im not going to do.....

» To BIH

You seem to have extremely low standards in video games. If Super Mario brothers still blows you away then I can see why you love the Wii so much. Most people actually prefer having better graphics available on their console.

» WTF!?!?!?!?!

"Most people actually prefer having better graphics available on their console."

Got proof? I doubt it.

Just the opposite is starting to become true. People are growing TIRED of chasing down higher performance machines and are starting to demand BETTER game play.

Some of the best games ever made are buried in the past. Meaning it's VERY OBVIOUS that better graphics are not required to make a widely successful game.
