Kirby's Adventure - Image 1It's the start of a brand new week, guys. And for the Wii fans just about to start their lunch, do so on a happy note, as we announce what will be available on your Virtual Console starting today. What's up for today's menu? Three classic NES platformers you may recognize:

Kirby's Adventure
In this NES platformer, players take control of Kirby as he goes off to recover the Star Rod from the evil King Dedede, and return good dreams into the citizens of Dream land. Players can expect to learn up to 20 unique tricks for Nintendo's pink ball of puff, along with an ability to learn enemy abilities by swallowing them.

Ice Climber:
Most of the NES emulator fans already know this classic, but for the benefit of first-time Nintendo fans, here's a brief: You play as Popo, who uses a mallet to climb layers of ice blocks to hopefully reach the top of each of the game's 32 levels before your time runs out. Sounds simple enough, until we mention the opposition, which includes polar bears. The game also carries a 2-player mode.

Kid Icarus
Another classic platformer. The game puts you in the shoes (or sandals) of Pit, an angel who has become Angel Land's last hope against Medusa. Gamers are tasked with rescuing the Goddess Palutena, as well as recovering three sacred artifacts from Medusa's minions: the Mirror Shield, the Arrow of Light, and the Wings of Pegasus.

All three NES titles are available on America's Virtual Console for 500 Wii points each. Or, if you prefer to see Pit and Kirby in their latest stint, check out the the Super Smash Brothers Brawl title.
