I'm among those who were pissed off that Nintendo decided not to release Fatal Frame 4 outside Japan. If you feel the same way I do, you might be interested in knowing that some hardcore Fatal Frame fans have taken it into their hands to bring the game to English-speaking gamers.
As Destructoid reports, a fan translation project for the Tecmo horror survival Wii game is now underway. The translation is still less than halfway done (45% as of this writing), but it's definitely a bright spot for series fans who have homebrew-capable Wiis and the money to import the game.

- group only translates what they like (requests are never applicable)
- translating requires reverse engineering the game which takes a very long time to do, and sometimes being given c+d order by development companies.
- the titles these group translate only attract small partition of gamers.
- many of them do not get donations. Money is an issue because projects of these types are time consuming.
- and more.
But you gotta give kudos to these groups as they do a pretty good job.
Also, if you really want to play Japanese games, but can't read Kanji, Google out script translations. There are a number out there for the game of your choice.
