Far Cry: Vengeance boxartHere's a useful piece of advice: if you're ever chilling in a tropical paradise and then some hot woman you don't know asks you to help her pull off a dangerous heist, just say no. Chances are you'll end up like ol' Jack Carver and get blamed for murder. Then the next thing you know, your dream vacation just turned into a rebel-infested, tropical hell. Well, if you also had Jack Carter's feral abilities then maybe you'd survive, but the chances of that happening just don't seem too good.

Well, with that out of the way, let's get right on to the good stuff. We have six new screenshots of the newest Far Cry game from Ubisoft, Far Cry: Vengeance for Nintendo's next-generation Wii console. Based on what we're seeing down there, Far Cry: Vengeance is going to be one beautiful game. Just check out how green that grass is. We bet the blood that gets spilled on it is going to look just as vivid. Aside from the screenshots, we also have a shot of the game's official boxart, which you can see to the left of this block of text.

Check 'em out and enjoy.

Those jaggies are awful, and the fire effects are so rudimentary they look like they belong on the N64, one of Nintendo's other trash consoles.

First of all, the jaggies are nearly non-existent. And keep in mind you're looking at this on a very sharp computer monitor. Viewed on a TV it won't be as obvious. Considering the jaggies are hardly even there, and considering you will be moving a LOT in FC:V, I hardly see that as an issue. The fire effects look great, too. You're just trolling to put Wii down, regardless of merit.

Stop focusing on the graphics, for one. Stop bashing for two. The N64 was just fine as a game console. If you don't realize that you missed out on an important piece of gaming history.

Sorry Unicycle, I have to agree with Ralph here. The Xbox version of FarCry, Thus Far, seem to have buried the Wii presentation of it. Even the water effects look, well, meh. Of course Nintendo's focus isn't at ALL graphics, but I think, no, I know it will hurt them in the end.

it looks good for me, it's better than the previous screens.

And it's much better than any game of gamecube I have.

I love the lighting effects in this game. This is one of the better pics I've seen for Wii games. But I hope it's smoother by the time it comes out. For a game like this you need good graphics, and since the system supposed to be slightly better than Xbox, I hope they use it to it's full potential when the games come out. I want to play N64 games on Wii, but only on the VC, I want smooth, this gen graphics for brand new games.

Well at least the grass and brush doesn't lok too bad, I was afraid the alpha channeling would suck completely. And you'd think they'd post higher res screen shots, their quality makes the textures look worse. I'm just pissed because the wii is capable of much better graphics, but developers aren't pushing it to the limit.

Personally, I think the game looks great and (from all the rave reviews about the Wiimote I've been hearing lately), I bet it's going to control like a dream. I'm really looking forward to this title.

as you can see the wii graphics are better, plus when the games always look worse in screenshots you cannot tell until you see videos of the gameplay. I know for sure the xbox version doesn't look as bad as in those screenshots when playing.

The water does look meh, but that wasn't what he was addressing. The water looking do plain is the developer's fault. Even the gamecube is capable of some spectacular water.

You don't actually know the graphical capabilities will hurt Wii in the end, just like I don't "know" it will be fine focusing on the control. However, I do think, feel, and believe in my heart that the control and console overall will win your approval once you get your hands on it. They showed some really amazing stuff at E3, and most of it looked and played VERY nicely.
