Fan-made Wiimote advert displays true Jedi mastery of the Force |
Listed in: Wii Tags: Wiimote, Yoda
Ó
No crying babies, exploding cubes, or
mutated flowers here, just plain mastery of the Force. Oh, and be sure to use those straps, just so that you don't fall into the dark-side.
Size matters not. Look at me. Judge me by my size, do you? Hmm? And well you should not. For my ally is the Force. And a powerful ally it is. Life creates it. Makes it grow. Its energy surrounds us, and binds us. Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter. You must feel the Force around you. Here between you, me, the tree, the rock, everywhere. Yes, even between the land and the ship.

Though it's a damn shame...
As a Wii developer myself, Wii is graphically less advanced than Xbox 1, in terms of shaders on the GPU itself. What I've seen so far is behind what Xbox 1 was capable of. Hollywood is basically a die shrink-job clocked about 50% higher, but they haven't advanced it much in terms of shader support.
I really doubt we'll see this thing go above Xbox in terms of shaders and rich, beautiful detail. This is a time when 3D graphics are finally starting to blossom, as a result 360 and PS3 are far more tempting platforms to develop on. Despite high appraisals for industry veterans, I've spoken to many lead desisgners who are not interested at all in developing for this thing because of its *****ty spec.

The only *****ty thing around here is your attempt to impress us with your dubious inside status.

Besides it show that the Wii is the TRUE holder of FULL motion sensing, not just tilting and shaking like PS3. It also shows the Wii controller does more. Realize that the Wii has more functionality in the analog (nunchuck) alone than the PS3's 6 assess of control controller. If Sony wants to gloat about graphics, that's fine but leave the real motion sensing up to Wii. Wii was built for it, it wasn't just some after tac-on (Sony).

Futhermore I think your not a real developer. AKA you lying! Your nothing more than a graphical nazi-fan, using the good name of developing to sway people away from what Wii is about control and gameplay. If you want people to believe you don't stratch the truth by saying your a developer. Just say i'm graphic nazi and people will be more understanding, OK! Let this go out to ALL GRAPHIC WHORE and NAZIS "People who have the Wii, want the Wii, or who are just intrested in the Wii know it doesn't have 360/PS3 quality graphics, they also know the PS3/360 analog control schemes have become dull and boring and are limiting what thier characters can do. Besides how many times do we have to prove over and over graphics don't guarantee a good game. Do you realize analog controller is what I used to beat the first Tomb Raider, or Mario 64 10yrs ago! Analog controlers should be dead.

As for all of you fanboys, quit it. There is nothing more annoying than listening to a bunch of 12 year old cry babies whine about how the "PS3 roxzorz your sox off because its super sweet graphix."
Each system is unique in its own right, purchase accordingly.
As for Van Von: lay off. Wise advice not to fix what isn't broken. The analong control scheme works great, and is very intuitive in terms of three axis movement. Since we are moving through a fourth dimension in videogames, we worry not about anything more.
Granted, the Wii has a great idea with the enitre Motion Sensor thing, and I am excited to play the damn thing. But one thing Nintendo has been is innovative, and I expect nothing less from them.
In due time however, I can guarantee that the Wii will have games that look just as good as PS3 games will. It isn't always about the sheer amount of impressive hardware you can put into the blackboxes of gaming systems, its what tricks the developers can pull to make things look better than they really are.
Want to know what I mean? Take a look at some second gen 360 games, and compare them with first gen 360 games. You should notice quite a bit of improvement. Hell, take a look at late gen Xbox games, and compare them with 1st gen 360 games. You will notice little if any difference.

I liked sony's commercial, the birds reminded me of Resident Evil.
I have both systems btw, and they both have their own advantages.

As for the Wii, I have yet to play it, and I can't wait to play it. One of my buddies is getting one soon here, and as soon as he does, its going to be a madhouse. The controller itself is also intuitive (or seems like it.) considering that it basically reads what you are doing, and translates that to the game. Want to bowl? Throw the ball!
As for the PS3, calling it over hyped might be a little to far. All that technology, and $600 can go a long ways. Given a little time, I can guarantee the PS3 can crank out some mad games. Just wait.
The 360 excels in its Online service. Its second to none, simply because there are no other services really. But it is great for the people that use it.
I am not shooting down the Wii's graphics either. Graphics are relative anyway, since a developer can tweak the engine they are using to make things looker better than they really are.
