Expect Wii supply shortage for the rest of 2007 |

Despite already selling more than 10 million units globally, the demand for Nintendo's shiny white console Wii is still insatiable. We realize that some of you are still having a hard time scouting for the console itself or the motion-sensing controllers in retail stores because the supply just won't keep up with the demand.Nintendo, time and again, has given word that it will ramp up its production for the console. However, it seems that it's not going to happen anytime within this year. According to a report from online site DigiTimes, Taiwan-based chip makers lament that the supply for different components like IC chips and PCBs are still tight as of now.
"With the delay of its plans, any easing of the Wii shortages in the worldwide market is unlikely to be seen in the second half of 2007", said one unnamed chip manufacturer. We do hope they sort out this problem sooner than later because the Nintendo's success is also generating money for other businesses worldwide.

We have had a non-stop supply here in Oregon at our stores. The only down time we have with none lasts only for about a week or less until new ones come in. If our little podunk town can get ahold of that many so easily, I don't see how it could be a problem for bigger stores to do the same and keep them flowing.

thats suprising since this machine isnt even that advanced the only reason people buy it is because its so cheap and they dont no its a piece of s hit. why wouldnt you get a real console like a 360 or ps3
Obviously, people don't really care about graphics power as much as you would like to think. Also, don't bash consoles on a fansite for that console. That is just asking to piss people off.
the reason it sells so many is because it is appealing to the family aspect of gaming. Hardcore gamers are the ones buying the 360's and PS3's lets face it the wii is alot cheaper thats why its selling more it doesnt make it better

Personally it sucks that there will be a shortage, but my sis got one and i like it, so back off. The only thing that is cheap is you, and the fact you don't like fun games. You truly don't know games until you play alot and have all consoles, i don't have the 360 but i have PS3 and a wii and im fine right now.
