Ensemble Veterans Form Robot Entertainment - Image 1Hah, Microsoft, who needs 'em?

A number of veterans from Ensemble Studios are picking up where they left off after being shut down when Halo Wars was completed. They formed a new studio called Ensemble Studios">Robot Entertainment.

The name's just about as much as anyone knows about them right now though, but I'd wager they're working on new RTS games, which is their forte. Ensemble was mainly known for the popular Age of Empires RTS games, and of course, Halo Wars.

Microsoft said that its move to shut down Ensemble Studios was "a fiscally-rooted decision that keeps [Microsoft Game Studios]on its growth path."

» eh

Didn't microsoft say they absorbed most of the people from Ensemble? so this is probably just the left overs, don't have much hope for these guys personally

» Growth plan?

Oh, you mean cutting back on studios that probably spend a lot of money developing quality games. >_>

I think this studio will do well. Unlike the guy above me, I have high hopes.

I would assume microsoft would keep the age of empires IP, along with all the bigshots behind it

» Microsoft Games Studios?

How can you call yourself "Game Studios" when you're closing them all. They should be called, "Microsoft Game Contractor", because all of they're best games were contracted out, not in house developed!

» Microsoft OS?

what r u smoking Binary? cuz i want some.

out of 7 OS's Microsoft OS 3 were good. the 3rd one being window's 7 which i haven't touched yet I just hear good things. so 3/7 it pretty bad for a company that primely makes OS's. and all of Mac's OS's never had a problem. and I'm pretty sure microsoft stole the wigets idea and called them gadgets. lol

» go ahead rock out with your ***** out...

I still to this day play AOE 1 and AOE mythology... There are no such thing as a bad programmer in the end it comes down to the budget put into a game. SO with that said microsoft was where they got their money to make the game now with out that i dont see them going too far...but ill give them a shot!
