Ed Boon : Revolution Controller Fatality?

Creator of the Mortal Kombat series Ed Boon recently spoke with Game Informer about his opinion of the Revolution Controller. When he was asked if it was indeed possible to make a fighting game for Nintendo's next-gen system, the Revolution, Mr. Boon replied; "You know, I donÂ’t know how you could [without a bunch of buttons]... so maybe Nintendo will compensate by tilting one way for blocking or another way for attack. But that is so dramatically different. So it will either be one of the biggest hits in the world or a big failure."

It isn't like Nintendo hasn't taken a risk before when it comes to peripherals. Products such as the Power Glove and Rob the Robot were a few of the first, but as the expected Revolution launch approaches this fall, what sort of thought have been filling your mind in regards to the Revolution's unique controller? Let us know!

i'm affraid that the developers are going to be too lazy to develop anything for it... i mean as far as the hardware they kept it simply but the complexity of the controller might cause problems.. the most innovative controller in the world is nothing if there are no great games to use it on

I'd be worried about his opinion if the guys had made a good Mortal Kombat since MK2!! In my opinion they haven't anyway.

Well the new action game was pretty good, but in terms of fighting games.

I think the support is going to come from Japanese game designers first anyway, before any American studios.
