EA Sports contemplating Fight Night Wii

That felt like a Wiimote slapped you in the face. - Image 1Doghouse Boxing placed a call to EA Sports producer Michael Blank to talk about the PS3 version of Fight Night Round 3, and the future of the franchise. One potential future discussed was a Wii Fight Night (Wii Sports' boxing has made its point, no doubt). Blank had this to say:

We're talking about it right now. We're contemplating and we definitely feel there are some exciting things we can do with the Fight Night franchise and the Wii. When you play Wii Boxing it is a very simple experience and I think that is what they designed it to be just to let you know that you can throw punches. With Fight Night we have an amazing simulation of Boxing and so we need to take those Wii controls and tailor it to what the Fight Night consumer might want to experience. We are looking at it right now and I am sure you will something some time in the future on the Wii.

Perhaps the move to the first-person Get In The Ring feature for the PS3 was wise on EA Sports' part, creating the perfect game perspective setup for a future Wii Fight Night. Although this will potentially raise those old, rehashed debates about comparing games across platforms, like what happened for Call of Duty 3, isn't the end result still the same? Either he won't look like much after twelve rounds...

Or you won't look like much after twelve rounds.
