Ea and MTV to announce new Harmonix game this Monday - Image 1For the past few weeks, we've been hearing several reports that Electronic Arts (EA) will be publishing an MTV-branded Harmonix video game in the future. If you've been out of the loop and wondering about the MTV-Harmonix connection, just remember that MTV Networks bought Harmonix for US$ 175 million at the beginning of this month.

Anyway, EA and MTV have just announced that this coming Monday, the three companies will be holding a teleconference early in the morning to finally announce their mysterious new game. Speculations are running high and signs are pointing to the possibility that the new title will somehow be music-based or music-related, given MTV's nature and Harmonix previous experience with the Guitar Hero series. There is also still no word of which video game console this game will be making its appearance for.

According to sources, representatives from MTV and the video game developer will also reveal a "first of its kind" partnership with major record labels and music publishers during the above-mentioned teleconference. They also added that these record labels will also be making their presence felt, come Monday.

As we've said before, EA is really busy and is trying its best to improve its current library of video game titles. Just a couple of days ago, we posted a report about the company's upcoming plans with the next version of FIFA titles, with one executive official saying that  in-game dynamic commentary will soon be a reality.
