Dungeon Explorer still busy in the dungeonsSome of you guys might be wondering why Dungeon Explorer went MIA the other day. Hudson did promise to make the game available on the VC by January 1, and we ourselves also wanted to the reason behind the delay - not to berate them or anything, but we want to know for the sake of peace of mind.

The clouds open up and in comes John Master Lee from Hudson with a statement which he posted on their official site.

As astute fans may have figured out by now, Dungeon Explorer did not hit the street date as intended. It appears that there were some last minute bugs that needed to be addressed, so we have decided to hold back to see what can be done.

As some of you know, when games are played on an emulator, which is the case for Virtual Console games, sometimes funky things happen. Emulation technology is not perfect, so not all games work right from the get go. In this particular case, the bug was serious enough to have a the release schedule changed. IÂ’m sure weÂ’ll have an update on when the game is coming soon.

So, call up your old buddies and tell them that the 5 player Dungeon Explorer game nite is going to have to be put off til another day. In the meantime, enjoy the sunshine. Play some ball. Have a picnic. You wonÂ’t get much sun once you are down in the dungeons.

Happy New Year!

No problem-o, Hudson. No worries at all. The simple fact that they're giving us back our childhood through these TurboGrafx games is reason enough to applaud their efforts. There'll always be a glitch in the system (literally, as explained above, or even figuratively), and sometimes you really can't blame anyone for having a bit of a delay. So, as per his suggestion, just hang on tight! The quest for the Ora Stone will start soon enough.

Is it just me or...?

Weird. If the bug is so serious, why is the game available in other territories? I suspect something else.

Already got it...

I was wondering why I already had it. Ive had this game now for a good few weeks. Ive actually experienced freezes with the game and only that game. The colors go all funny and it just freezes. This happens at certain points of the game.
