We've just learned that a Japanese coder by the name of Nekokabu has released the first Dual Layer Wii disc ripper for the Wii. As the name implies, it's essentially a dumping utility that supposedly allows users to backup dual-layered Nintendo Wii discs.Pictures on his blog seem to indicate that the process has worked for him using Super Smash Bros. Brawl as the test subject. He also appears to have attempted to put videos up of the procedure working, but those vids seem to have been taken down by YouTube.
In any case, we'll keep you updated on this new development, as well as any additional news related to the Dual Layer Wii disc ripper. In the meantime, keep checking QJ for updates.

But yes, it is out... I would recommend not using it, thus so Nintendo keep making good Wii games for us, seeing as no third party seems capable
