DragonMedia Player is one of the most promising media center programs we've seen from the homebrew community. Author DragonMinded has just released a new build for the program, which delivers on one of the promised features from the last build, the seek bar. The developer even chucked in a background image capability.
In case you missed the previous release, DragonMedia Player is a Wiibrew program that is able to play a number of audio formats, including MP3s and WAVs, and is a native Wii application - meaning, no need for Linux. Make sure to go through the documentation included in the download archive for more information.
The program is still in its development stages, but we're really rooting to see more of this homebrew in the future, as the author has a lot of ambitious plans for the program that we'd love to see happen, like video playback, a USB-connected hard drive, and DVD playback. Here's the changelog for version 0.04 Alpha:
- Added in background image capability.
- Added seek bar.
- Added new hotkeys. Left/right to select different songs. (1) to play/pause, (2) to stop.
- Changed directory enumeration method to speed up changing directories and fix large directory crash.
- Fixed bug where scrolling would stop one file short of the bottom.
- Fixed some text ignoring theme settings for color.
- Fixed modules not starting from the beginning after hitting stop then play.
