Hoping for an update on the English port for Dragon Quest Swords from Square Enix for the Nintendo Wii console? We're letting you know that the developer has just announced that the game's PAL port is now scheduled for a spring 2008 release.Indeed, it's a little far off, but at least it's something to look forward to as we come to the end of 2007. Square Enix CEO John Yamamoto had this to say regarding this big news:
We are delighted to be announcing our first Wii title for PAL territories. The Dragon Quest series is a phenomenon in Japan that has already sold over 43 million units worldwide, but is still relatively new to Europe. With todayÂ’s announcement of Dragon Quest Swords and the forthcoming release of Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker on the Nintendo DS, the series is set to charm more fans throughout the world.
The territories of Japan celebrated the arrival of Square Enix's Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen and Tower of Mirrors last July, with the game picking up a total of 305,254 sales in just three days. That said, we're hoping this bodes as a good omen for its arrival in the EU territories.
