Dragon Quest: Hack and Slash Weaponry |

Ó
The Dragon Quest series of RPG games is a huge success in Japan. It tells the story of the legendary hero known as Roto. It features quite a number of religious overtones and thus suffered from substantial censorship in the North American localizations. The game is not as successful outside Japan due to the popularity of the Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker (DS) and Final Fantasy series.
While we wait for official word from Square Enix, Dragon Quest fans in Japan had a glimpse of what the Wii game could be like. The Japanese ad for Dragon Quest shown below shows a baby sword and what seems to be a motion sensing box that could detect the swinging and slashing actions of the sword. Looks interesting, but something tells us that this is more of a TV sword game than a Wii game. But still, it gives us an idea of the sword swinging mechanic that'll possibly be utilized for the Wii game.

Anyway if dragon quest tower and mirrors and stuff ( wii ) is like the kenshin plastic sword game I'll pass on the wii, I don't want to play gimmics, I want also real games, I mean, I'm a fan of dragon quest, I don't want it to become too much "casual", I'm hoping for something there, if it's too much for kids, I'll buy a ps3 1st instead and buy the wii after some time when more games will be on it.
