For those asking, Dominance War is a yearly competition offered among online game art communities. Each of the competing teams must create its own artistic masterpiece, and hope it holds up against what other teams have to offer.

And why should you care? Aside from the fact it's a cool way to see some of the upcoming talents the gaming community has to offer, we couldn't resist drooling over the prizes: a total US$ 10,000 is being offered up for the winners, plus four Wiis, Xbox 360s, and PS3s, and eight PSPs. For the guys who still find the PS3 a bit pricey or can't seem to find a Wii, you may want to try this competition out.

As for the terms and conditions:
  • All Cash prizes are listed in USD. Any transfer fees must be paid by the prize winner.
  • Payments cannot be divided into multiple shipping addresses or bank accounts.
  • Only United States and Canadian residents are eligible for hardware prizes. Winners in other countries are given cash prizes only.
  • To be eligible for prizes, winning entrants must cooperate in making an interview about themselves.
  • Any import taxes or duties on prizes must be paid by the prize winner.
And if you think it's going cakewalk - don't. Two communities already announced to be taking up the cudgels for this year's match are CgChat.com and Polycount.com - both of whom were contenders in last year's bout.

For the brave factions who think they have the artistic finesse to hold their own and make a name for themselves, sign-ups and price details are available at the contest site, with this competition expected to last until mid-March. To the local teams who think they can draw as well as they can brew, we wish you the best of luck.

This year's Dominance War is organized by Fredrik Hultqvist, GCCore.org's Admin.
