DolphinWx_972: Wii and GameCube emulator for Windows |
Ó
Dolphin, the GameCube and Wii emulator for Windows,
has been spruced up for a second beta release. Don't expect anything
grand though - it only sports preliminary Wii support, and GC games
compatibility is more or less the same. Here are the release notes:
Dolphin is a Gamecube emulator. It also has preliminary support for Wii and basic Triforce emulation (this is pending a commit, and does not run games yet).
Gamecube compatibility is about the same (or worse, due to various core changes and lack of subsequent compatibility work) as previous releases.
Wii compatibility is very low. Some games show their intro movies, that's it. There is preliminary Wiimote emulation but it does not work yet.
If it's less than what you expected, don't despair. After all, emulating anything after the PS1 is a tricky affair. I've yet to see a decent emulator for the PS2. At the least, we're seeing some progress for Dolphin, baby step as it is (or baby stroke?). Let's hope this project gets some leverage soon.

If you haven't seen a good emulator since Bleem!; I assume you are talking a/b Bleem! anyway; you need to look into NullDC.
For the PS I use ePSXe, it's much more flexible. Haven't tried NullDC though, I was still busy with my PS when the Dreamcast came out so I never looked into its games. I'll go try it out, thanks
sound in this version?
