DJ Hero peripheral only for DJ Hero

Unfortunately, the controllers for DJ Hero (PS3, Xbox 360, Wii) will not be functional with other games. This was confirmed by the Creative Director of the said disc-spinning title from FreeStyle Games, Jamie Jackson.

Hello, this is the DJ Hero controller. It's all MINE!

"DJ Hero is DJ Hero," firmly stated Jackson. "If someone needed to use our controller, then they would basically have to rip our game off." Guess they're not too keen on sharing their peripherals. Then again, it's not like there's a whole slew of DJ-ing games out there to begin with. Even the two recently announced Scratch: The Ultimate DJ are still distinct from each other enough to dissipate the need to share peripherals.

That'll do for now, though. When this expands like GH and Rock Band did, they'll have to address the issue of availability of said peripherals beyond the original game. Maybe they'll cross the bridge when they get there.

No Kidding

Is anybody really going to buy this thing? I'm really curious. It just doesn't seem very popular.

You're much better off by just buying a real turntable.

um...

"If someone needed to use our controller, then they would basically have to rip our game off" god forbid anyone take a good idea and run with it... :cough: music game with special peripheral :cough: i get what he's saying. i just hate it when people act like they are so original, when they clearly are not. competition is a good thing ya douche... look what it did for guitar hero.

lol don't kid yourself guy

This game looks beyond stupid, no other dev would want to use your controller.

Like the idea, but don't want a roomful of peripherals

I'll admit to actually being intrigued by the idea. However, I do kind of take offense to the attitude that the Creative Director has taken. So, what he's really saying is, "We don't care if you have more peripherals than you have food in your house; you just buy our product which is marginally different from our competitors, just so that we can lock you into buying version after stale 'updated' version of our game.'

the peripheral isnt as big as the guitar + drum kits of gh or rb.. activision is afraid ea and harmonix might comes up with their own kind of DJing music and saying they cant use their controller coz its only for DJ hero.. activision is dumb as ever..
