Probably more old-school gamers than one could credit them for, the developers behind the Wii's often overlooked Shop channel said in a channel developers' chat discussion that they were more interested to find even more classic games than those available on the Wii's Virtual Console. That said, they were really hoping that the Wii Virtual Console could deliver such arcade classics by turning the channel to a digital museum.

Although retro-gaming for the core gaming bracket isn't an actual delight, the games can re-educate the new generation of gamers on exactly how the computer game started out and rediscover how fun games were in the past... Hey, it doesn't hurt to hope for the impossible, right?

There was even mention of Nintendo's pride and glory Shigeru Miyamoto's desire to find the arcade versions (not the Famicom version) of his Nintendo classics, including Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr., and Punch Out! Click on the "Read" link below to hop right over to the developer discussion.
