Nintendo Wii - Image 1Everybody is expecting that the Wii will be in short supply this holiday season. In response to this, Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aims announced that they have worked out a "rain-check" pre-order system with GameStop to deal with the high demand for the console.

If you've been waiting for the specifics on this, details regarding the promo have finally been revealed in a press release from GameStop Corp.

The promo will be running this December 21 for one day only. Be advised that a limited number of reservations can be made at each store and that only one order per household will be allowed.

Those interested in ordering a unit will have to pay the full price of US$ 249.99 plus tax to be sure of getting a console by January. As proof that this was paid, the customer will be getting a custom-designed DVD case with a picture of a Wii and the Mario.

Inside the DVD case, you will find a guarantee slip with instructions regarding the promo. GameStop will call those who reserved a unit when it arrives in the store. Remember that each ordered Wii must be picked up at the store where the reservation was placed.

If you want to be assured of getting a Wii this holiday season, you might want to seriously consider taking part in the Holiday Wii Reservation program.
