Designer surprised Scarface allowed on Wii |
Ó
Despite the many parental concerns regarding violence on the "family-friendly" console, it seems that Radical Games isn't planning on toning down the violence meter at all.Scarface, an adaptation of Brian De Palma's 1983 film of the same title, was revamped to deliver the full potential of the Wii. This allowed Radical Games to create a visual crispness unrivaled by the PS2 and the original Xbox. And because of the advanced detail to visuals, the violence incurred by the young Cuban Mafia-leader to be can be given much more focus.
Games Radar confirmed that fear: the game took an even more terrifying stance in violence in the recent game demonstration. Bone defended their stance, saying, "Aiming a gun with the Wiimote is the closest you can get to killing a filthy cock-a-roach without getting of your couch."
While it's an invitation for you-know-who to do you-know-what, the Wii does have a share of mature games coming for it, like decapitation-king Manhunt 2. Despite the questionable taste of Nintendo to allow such games on the Wii, it's all part of Nintendo's bid for third-party title encouragement.

Darn you, designer. This Scarface is sickening and pervert. NO THANKS! GO AWAY!
I myself am a Gamedesigner, and I must say that I, myself, is getting pissed at all this "Wii is family friendly" ***** that's going on.
I mean c'mon, a console can't be family friendly! Only the games can, no console in the world make the games, the games make the games.
I'm glad Godfather, Scarface, Manhunt and No More Heroes are coming out for Wii this year so I can shove that at all those annoying people who approach me with their claims on Wii being kiddy or jsut for the family...
Thanks for reading my rant, I'm tired and pissed so I'm not sure how it turned out...
Im not really into these type of games but i am glad that some companys are starting to show that the can play more than mini games. I have a wii and i love it but it feels a little boxed in on software at the moment. I know the wiis graphics arnt next gen but the console is new gen and i think a few solid games like this and we'll have a pretty good console on our hands
the wii needs more M games. I went to blockbuster to get a mature game while i was on a sleepover and we only had 2 choices. godfather or farcry. far cry sucks and godfather was sold out so we had to get elebits(gotta luv hide n seek).
It's a relief that Nintendo is allowing rated-M games, hopefully they start making rated-M games, too( hopefully metroid 3 is rated m)
I'm so happy nintendo is finally letting games like this come to the wii. I'm own a wii and enjoy it but when I wanna play a game like that I usaually have to play on another console anyway I hope they keep bringing more mature games to the wii
