Demand delays Wii games down under

The Nintendo WiiIt looks like the Wii is set to face some drawbacks in Australia, what with news that some publishers have been forced to delay their games purely because Nintendo - the sole manufacturer of discs for the Wii - can't quite keep up with the demand for games.

Third-party publishers like Activision have been forced to delay their games even though they actually want their entire lineup to be available in large quantities and as soon as possible. Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam will be debuting in Australia on December 13, while Marvel: Ultimate Alliance won't be out in stores until December 20.

Due to this development, the only Activision title to launch on day one will be Call of Duty 3.

Ubisoft has also been forced to make similar decisions, but details on the exact release schedule of the company's titles are still under wraps. There's still some good news for Ubisoft fans, though: confirmation has been made that Red Steel, Rayman Raving Rabbids, and Monster 4x4: World Circuit will definitely be available on launch day.
