Dead Rising for Wii gets official title, improved save functionality, new screens |
Ó
Although the upcoming Dead Rising port for the Wii has some new features now that it's running on the same engine that powered the Wii version of Resident Evil 4, it seems that there may have been some compromises done to get it on the console in the first place.
Looking at the game's new screenshots (which you can check out below), it looks as if most of the zombies from the Xbox 360 version have called in sick. Still, Dead Rising for the Wii (which is now officially called Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop) still promises some good times ahead.
The port has an the advantage of having an improved save functionality, which a lot of people have complained about in the first game. The game will be released sometime this Winter. Nothing like toasting zombies with some hot cocoa on Christmas morning.

The Wii has nowhere near the power required to render as many Zeds as the 360, and of course the Wii can't go HD on them either!
well i was excited for this port...but the graphics down right suck... guess Il just have to wait for resident evil on my trusty PS3...damn wii....
The Wii is literally a Gamecube with a new controller and bigger discs.
You were expecting otherwise? There's no way known the Wii will ever come close to having the same graphics as its current gen cousins. Its max output res is 480p which makes it only marginally better than the Gamecube and PS2 :P. Hell even the PS2 could do 1080i on some games like GT4. That's not to say its a bad console, but I mean if you're after stunning visuals you really need a 360 or PS3
I love that game way more than Dead Rising.
They managed to render 10 low-res zombies at once in a 2 year old game! Go Wii!
LMAO for REAL,wii is a dead horse, powerwise but gameplay cant be beat just cuz the wiimote supped up gamecube game engine's are about as good as it's gonna get for the wii i think. shovelware machine at best
I thought your dumb a$$ would post something totally stupid and un-funny, even though you think it's clever and hilarious.
What I didn't expect is that someone, fingahs, would reply with something even more stupid and utterly non-hilarious. It doesn't even make sense.
(Que a reply or more from fingahs or someone, attempting to belittle me but me not giving a sh*t. Oh, and he'll probably try to improve his prose so as not to seem like an idiot. Which you both are.)
They are removing everything that made dead rising fun and exciting
No time limits, no picture taking, dumbed down save system, significantly less zombies.
Changing the save system is NOT an advantage, it removes the sense of actual threat making it less exciting. Same for removing the time limit.
That's quite an accomplishment for the Wii!
well if it would come out for the ps3, i wouldn't care, and for the record, i didn't really didn't expect much..but this?....disappointment
I think they just killed my dream.
I was hoping for a similar experience, I didn't care about graphics... but they finally changed everything in the game, except the fact that you are in a mall.
You know what sucked about the PSP, it's that most of the games that seemed appealing was tuned down games from the PS2. That exactly what sucks about the Wii, except that you can't play anywhere like the PSP.
The graphics look terrible so far, though they weren't amazing on 360 either.
If it can keep a steady framerate and we can wield a chainsaw decently, I'll still consider playing it.
What I find the most funny about all of this is that the back of the 360 box says "Chop 'til you drop" across the top of it...
