It's a definite step in the right direction. Okay. The Wii has problems. All of the consoles do. 360 overheats, PS3 can't do much of anything, and Wii only has kiddie games. BUT. The Wii has taken controls to a new level, therefore it is a step in the right direction. Someday, the NextBox may steal that design and put it with 4-D graphics, and then later on PS5 will take both ideas and make a virtual world that you can actually play in, with a Wiimote-type controller as your sword, all because in November of 2006, Nintendo released a new controller. You see, it really is a step in the right direction.

Regardless of who wins or what novelty wears off and whatnot, the wii is fun for me, my kids, and the wife. That's all that matters,just me the kids and Mario.

Why do people keep pestering about "wii is just a fad", "it won't last", "it doesn't have the hardware we want". Look, the Wii is built for its audience. Why the hell do they keep comparing it to the PS3? I am sure Sony and Microsoft have both said that their main rivals are one and another. Nintendo Wii has already got its base. People bought a Wii because of the Nintendo games and the different types of games. Dig the PS3 to the Wii all you want, but they fail to mention 360 for some reason. Nintendo have already met their goals, and PS3 has not, for now. Sony's Playstation 3 really needs to duke it out with Microsoft's 360 in terms of the variety of games and exclusives. Why can't people understand that the Wii is not meant to compare against machines built for hardcore gamers?

There was already motion sensing ideas before the wii. And what the hell do you mean "the PS3 cant do anything"? Are you on crack or what. 360 and PS3 is next. All sony has to do is make a new controller for the PS2 and there goes the wii.

all I can say is the nintendo wii is in another categorie of its own, most casual gamers will go for the nintendo wii, since its cheap and very easy to use, thats why its selling so fast, cheap fun and easy.

The 360 is doing alright due to the great games that its finally releasing. Remember when the 360 first launched, the first great game for it was oblivion, then the other great games took a while to come out.

With the ps3, its still in the early processes of making games. I mean common we gave the 360 a year to start coming out with great games, why not give the ps3 the same amount of time.

Also the nintendo wii didn't have amazing games either when it first got released. "no wii sports is not an amazing game, its just a demo bundled with the system."



All consoles start off slow, its just nintendo wii has the easy use and cheap price going to it. All the consoles will do fine and the market is big enough for three consoles.

Wrong. All those games with the exception of Call of Duty and Condemned, were released after the launch window. It did not have any great games when it dropped.

Its only because developers are not making games for it. One being because of Piracy, and two, the PSP uses disc which have a slower read speed. In recent firmwares the PSP has the option to allow the user to change the PSP's processing speed. Which in turn uses more battery but you have faster load times.

The Wii could continue on this crazy pace or it could fizzle out as quickly as it escalated. Personally I have fun in spurts with the machine, but let's not kid ourselves, 360 or PS3 (or even logitech) could come out with a controller that mimics the control schemes and the Wii loses it's main trump card.



People should just quit complaining and have fun playing whatever style games they like and encourage others to do the same. The constant dogging of other consoles is annoying.

If the Wii games cost 1/3 to make then why the F.U.C.K are they so damm expensive then? Game developers like the Wii because they save a ton of money when making the game and when it's released they jack the price up to the 50$ mark. That is why every Wii game no matter how crap it is will always be released at the 40 to 50 dollar mark because they know dumb people will buy it.

Let me start by saying nintendo is good at showing off there products, there really good at it, I was raised with nintendo since I was a little one, and as I grew older, I got the n64 and my brother owned a psx, over time I got the ps2, reason why I didnt get gamecube, was simply because of metal gear solid 2, though four years later I bought the gamcube. During e3 2005 I was introduced by the ps3, first off I was shocked at what it looked like, just as I was shocked with the ps2 when it first was shown. *I was shocked* thats the keyword here of how I felt about the ps3 and the ps2, when the wii introduced itself at e3, to be honest I laughed, I wasnt excited, the wii didnt click into my head correctly, and to this day as I play it at my friends house, I still dont see whats so amazing about it, but you know what, hey if you like it, thats all that counts, if you want to read my deep concious about the Wii, I think nintendo is getting all emotional with our minds luring us into buying a wii, as for sony, they just show it to you.



ill give you an example. during e3 2006 or 2005 I cant remember mr. miamoto was talking about the heart of the gamer, as he was talking he eventually showed pics of when he was a kid, talking about his story on how he became a gamer, I dunno about you, but nintendo looked desperate, I mean come on, do you see sony showing pics of baby phil harrison, NO! they show frickin hardcore power, they dont make it look like a family business, when I talked to my friends about the wii one day on how they liked it, I hear them talk about how sony is a mean business, and nintendo cares for us, look I dunno the whole detail on why the wii is so popular right now, but this is something I think about in my head every now and then, all I gotta say is nintendo is good at luring you into this there hardware. Very good.

to be honest the wii and DS are fads, i mean look what does the ps3 and psp lack right now, Oh wait i know Defining games. The psp are getting kick ass psp games soon like God of war and Crisis core and syphon filter. Those games will help the psp sell. The ps3 also lacks some games, but NGS and the games coming soon like Lair and GTA4 and MGS4 and Heavenly sword and tekken 6 etc are games that will make the system sell. Both the psp and ps3 are slow moving consoles that lacks some good games, the titles in the making are sure to boost sales alot.

come on people, the Wii has to date the most original controls. are you forgetting about the 30% of 360's that get the 3 red rings of death? and the PS3 also overheating. Now im not saying that the Wii dont have its short comings. but atleast its more interactive. take Resident Evil 4, that game was fun on the other systems, but when u add it to the Wii lineup and try it with the Wiimote, it brings more life into the game. plus with Zelda(1 of the best games) and Metroid coming out next month, you cant go wrong with the Wii.

The wii caters to a different crowd. A crowd that would rather be doing something else than playing a video game. If Nintendo thinks they can bring people who don't typically play video games to the market, then more power to them. Honestly though, Wii sports sucked. I didn't feel like I was in the game at all. The controls didn't meet all the hype.



Until they get a larger variety of games on their consoles, the ps3 and x-box are both better values. Even with their steep price tags. When the wii gets games that I like, that aren't already done better on other systems, then I might change my opinion of it.

ps3 does not overheat

Yes the Wii is luring us. With it's vast gameplay capabilities and the fact it is actualy FUN to play. "Huh? It's fun to play?" You say? Yes it is, because Nintendo didn't spend all their time making the graphics fancy and finding dvd players to lob onto their console. They spent time innovating. The PS3 is for none-hardcore gamers and hardcore gamers alike, people who just want to play a game generaly get a PS2 or XBox/360, people who then become hardcore gamers after playing these get a PS3 or 360. People who have been playing the N64 till their fingers bleed get a Wii (plus they can still play their N64 games via Virtual Arcade) and people new to the market tend to get a Wii. I remember sitting in the car with my mum and one of her friends. When she asked what her friend was going to buy for Christmas they replied "That Nintendo thing, because (Now heres the punchline kiddies!) IT LOOKS FUN."

I really don't think that the wii sales will drop unless sony and MS start lowering the prices of their consoles
