The end of last year saw the release of a good number sports sims for the Wii than you can possibly imagine (actually there were more or less 17 titles, but we're not counting). One of these was 49 Games' Winter Sports: The Ultimate Challenge for the Wii and it proved to be quite a thematic game to end the holidays with.

Being one of two games based on the Olympics (the other being Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games, of course), Winter Sports: The Ultimate Challenge tests your skills at handling the Wiimote and Nunchuk as you slide, ski, and sleigh your way through 9 different winter sport events.

In the two gameplay videos we have for you below, it shows the basic mechanics of how the Ski Jumping and Speed Skating events are played out.

As we mentioned earlier, the game makes use of precision controls using the Wii Remote and the Nunchuk controllers. Based on the videos, you can take a look at how both events make use of the Wii console's intuitive controls to get your game on in these icy events.

Even though the snow is already thawing, Winter Sports: The Ultimate Challenge is still a good casual sports game to look back on and have some good clean fun. Anyway, enjoy the two videos we have from the game!
