Control Issues with Wiimote Production? |
Ó
The story goes that a Chinese journalist from PCgames.com stumbled upon some snags along the production line in the Wiimote factory. Apparently, the controller has encountered a stumble block in the testing phase and feedback goes:
"currently the Wiimote and nunchuck still have a lot of small issues, such as buttons arenÂ’t sensitive, hard to press 2 buttons together, and even no response occasionally, and the current sample is easy to get damaged, using the controller in normal situation will produce some noise, etc..."
The quote above was taken from a GoNintendo reader's translation of the original Chinese article from PCgames.com. So, if it sounds a bit iffy to you (is it really a rumor?), you could take a shot at cracking this mystery. OR you can just wait 'til we give you an update on what Nintendo has to say about this.

"PCgames.com" - all clear - another anti console article from PC - Lovers. Dont even bother, Xbox60 is here, Wii and PS3 are on the way so PC won't be better even with his Direct X10.
not surprising. Nintendo's hardare division has really gone down hill. The ds and dslites are VERY VERY brittle. besides, better now than launch day.
lite may be brittle, but there hasn't been physical probs with most nintendo products (systems, controllers, etc all solidly built) I don't think this will amount to any large setback.
my ***** stopped reading disk after about 7 months and im very gentle with my disk and stuff ive had a ps2 and an xbox never had that problem
I've had my gamecube since the day it was released in the U.S and I have never had any problems with it. I've tossed it closets, put it away for a year, stuffed it in cramped storage areas but its still playing games with no problems. Can't say that about my xbox, replaced the dvdrom 3 times, my ps2 looks like it tried to commit sucide.. although it too was purchased the day ps2 launched in the U.S. I guess i just have good luck.
"my ***** stopped reading disk after about 7 months and im very gentle with my disk and stuff ive had a ps2 and an xbox never had that problem" Nintendo is known for systems that last and great customer service. http://cube.ign.com/articles/714/714978p1.html Sony is not: http://www.ps2settlement.com/ My 30001R is almost a brick...
I've never had trouble with a single nintendo product, save my nes. I guess it's because I take good care of everything I own. My ps2 however, will not read older games (Xenosaga, and pre-Xenosaga for the most part) and will not play movies, or ps1 games. I hate it. My xbox was fine for a long time, but eventually the power connector in the back broke and it began to spark and smoke. P.S.-My little bro dropped his GBA Advance in the front yard. It rained. Two days later he picks it up, lets it sit inside, turns it on, and it works fine except that the sound was really bad. Two days later, the sound is perfect again. Wtf? That's right, go Nintendo hardware team.
microsoft has the 3 rings and the over heating problem and now dead rising is killing off the console cause it uses all the cores, what a joke.
Just look at all the videos on youtube and google testing the durability of the systems. The gamecube wins everytime. I can't stand the gamecube but people who say its poorly made are mistaken. The ds lite is also very durable and you can basically throw it on the ground and it will still work. Try that with a psp. If the rumors are correct then its probably nintendo just trying to keep their standard well known quality. Also, my brothers xbox360 just broke 2 days before saints row came out. I was going to buy one for that game but not now. Microsoft takes forever to respond to emails and gives you a work around on the phone. The lesson here is that Microsoft does not care about you or have any quality control. Nintendo does and you should just trust that they know what they are doing. I hope the ps3 doesn't break after 6 months of use like the 360.
My gamecube (as well as every other nintendo product I've ever purchased) are/is in perfect working condition. However, my original Playstation and Playstation 2 stopped reading discs (or in my PS1's case, stopped entirely). I don't treat my systems with any sort of abuse, and I keep my stuff clean. I'm actually surprised my PSP isn't broken yet due to my experiances with Sony in the past. If I would trust anyone hardware-wise, it'd be Nintendo. Their stuff is always solidly built to me.
My "associate" at school had(s) a gamecube that the lens cracked. it was a 80$ repair but they are so cheap now that u can buy them for that price (no taxes included) How ever my ps2 also is experiencing probs similar to what everyone else has. I had to replace 90$ worth of parts for it to play ps1 games for bout 4 months! Now the whole thingdoes not work...it read some games ocationaly, others almost always and many not at all. The ps2 pick some pretty strage ones to work and not work. All i can say is wait till the cash converter stores fill with ps2s instead of using the ps3 for older games , same with ps1 games.(if u realy need too, im selling my ps2 games)
if nintendo is so good with there products then why does my nintendo not work half the time?
