We've seen the fray of retailers pointing to the elusive Wii price cut, and now we've got what could be the closest thing to a pre-announcement confirmation we can get. Nintendo will be slashing the Wii price to just US$ 199 come September 27th.

Nintendo shared this information during a retailer conference call where a Nintendojo staffer was present. Nintendojo now confirms that the Wii price cut is real.

As for the announcement, it's likely that we'll hear it from Nintendo at TGS.

Seriously, I like my Wii, but after 2 years and no price cut AT ALL? I was beginning to think they weren't ever going to.

200$ is much for a Wii

i wish they sell it for 150$ then it worth its price.

I buy a 360 arcade to replace for my elite if it something bad happens. and i won't need to buy any hdd, accs or games... :)

» Wii rules the closet

With the new motion technology coming from Sony & MS why would you even bother to spend $200 on a Wii? Mine has been collecting dust for ages. Leave this system for the soccer Moms and Grandmas and buy a REAL next gen console.
