It wasn't part of Nintendo's E3 presentation, but Shigeru Miyamoto did announce a new Zelda game for the Wii during the event. According to Miyamoto, this new game will feature an older Link in a "completely different era". He declined to go any further about the story beyond that.

A lot more has been said about this new Zelda game, but most of them have been speculation based on the concept art Miyamoto showed at E3. Well, we can now get in on all the speculating since the image has been released. Check it out below.

Let the crazy theories begin!

To get things kicked off, Miyamoto pointed out to IGN "Did you notice Link's sword is missing?" and that was all. Speculate away lol.

I remember before Twiight Princess came out I got in on a lot of concept art and screenshot speculation, t'was fun then, probably will be again.

The Master Sword is right next to him, why would Miyamoto say it is missing?

That girl actually reminds me of the master sword..... the colours, the diamond and the criss crossing pattern of her legs. Maybe she is the master sword's spirit or the master sword itself? For now it's all a mystery!

Miyamoto simply pointed out that link is not holding a sword... not that he does not have the master sword.

Simply looks below links hand and you will notice that there is some sort of red substance forming (it almost looks like blood) althout it resembles a hilt, perhaps link will be able to call on his sword when engaged in battle.

I have been speculating and found a lot out through this art. I somewhat feel link will travel to the time of one of the few great wars of Zelda. Likely the Hyrulean Civil War imo.
