Component cables via phone and online store: SOLD OUT |

So, apparently, "bitching" (that is, bitching in a good way) about component cables (like Chris Kohler of Wired Blogs' Game Life) really does work. Although IGN wasn't as vehement as Mr. Kohler here, they did mention in their article two days ago that component cables were sold only via phone, and the nice guys over at Nintendo decided to make it available at the online store as well, so as to meet customer demand.Unfortunately, IGN sadly reports that:
As of 2:30 pm PST, the component cables have sold out completely from Nintendo's online store. Those of you out there who have yet to secure these oh-so-necessary cables may have to settle for playing your games in standard definition in the few days following launch.
IGN adds that there were people who also had their component cables backordered, which aren't expected to ship before the 25th of November. Now, we're all glad about Ninty hearing our 480p plea and all. Maybe the deluge of component cable demand may prod them to sell those cables at our local stores. If not, maybe we could just ask them nicely to.

what the hell! can't they produce cable as fast as the console :s
you can buy them in a few places, hmv and woolworths to name two.
woolworths. is woolworths a supermarket chain only like here in australia? I was able to pre order my component cable though my local supplier. Maybe locally they're still avaliable. Hard to imagine that a simple copper cable could be so hard to make and run out of stock of them.
