Classic Controllers to work with Wii Virtual Console?

WiimoteGamersReports is saying that the Norwegian site Dagbladet has some interesting information regarding controllers other than the Wiimote for the Wii. Apparently, Nintendo revealed a variety of controllers, including ones for systems like Turbo Grafix 16, Sega Genesis, and the NES, that are supposedly compatible with the Wii's Virtual Console. It would be great if we could all enjoy classic games with their respective classic consoles, but until Nintendo officially announces anything we'll have to leave this in the rumor department for the time being.

Nintendo or a third party hardware dev should release a series of cheap adapters that would connect to the GC ports and allow you to use your old controllers.

Better yet the adapters should be made to connect to the Wiimote. That way you can use them wirelessly.

Not sure about you but I have always had to get extention cords for game controlers.

R Kelly already plays all these games on his Moded Xbox. I have all the complete sets of every system on my xbox and i play them all in high definition with wireless logitech controllers.. if nintendo could do something similar that would be awesome!

This could be just nintendo saying see all these controllers well they can be combined into one. That is just me but that would be pretty cool, although adapters would be cooler, I don't want to buy all the controllers over again. And since they would just plug into the Wii-mote they would be wireless! I hated when I wanted to play an old game but the pain of sitting so close to the tv, you can go blind for crying out loud.

But Logitech products and xboxes are absolutely worthless.

That's why

PC + www.retrousb.com = win

...photoshopped, in my opinion.

The "wii-mote" was the only thing not real in there.

not only is this old news(they talked about this during the tokyo gaming show)but c'mon has no one else seen the top of the wii there is plenty of pictures it has 2 spots for memory cards and then there a 4 ports on the top that look like gc plug in's witch makes sence because if nintendo wants to make every game from all there systews they need this because of games like ffcc and 4 swords

Genesis,Nes,Pos sibly snes,Turbo Grafix 16 prolly all can be controllerd with the gamecube and maybe n64 controller. If u look closely at n64 the ab and c buttons for the same design as the genesis six button. and if u used ab and left c then down c with the land r button u wood have a snes controller. Nes is obvious with the wii mote.Turbo (have never seen the controller till noww) from wat i can see u could use the wii mote
