Child's Play gains US$ 300 in donations thanks to Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess - Image 1

In an effort to earn US$ 40 for charity, Cameron Banga tried to finish Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess in less than 11 hours. They ended up earning US$ 300 in donations instead. They donated the proceeds to the Child's Play charity.

Banga and his group started out speed playing for charity through all the Zelda games in 48 hours, but a bet from one of their group escalated the stakes. Chris Vavra challenged the group to beat his speed run of the game of 11 hours and 26 minutes.

He promised to donate US$ 40 to the charity if they beat his record. Donations poured in and they received US$ 90 four hours into playing the game, beating the initial US$ 40 bet. By the end of the challenge they received US$ 300.

Not to dash their efforts (since they completed the challenge anyway), but perhaps they could have benefited from watching a video of the game being completed in less than six hours. But then they might not have gotten as much donations.
