CES 2007

Nyko, a company famous for their cooling attachments for next-generation consoles has revealed their latest peripheral for the Nintendo Wii. During the 2007 CES, they revealed their latest wireless Wii Sensor Bar and it may solve a number of problems facing gamers whose living rooms don't follow the entertainment center template.

This is not the first Wii wireless Sensor Bar to hit the market. However, Nyko's bar stands out for several reasons. Aesthetically, it is as clean as the official sensor bar and it also fits into the official sensor bar case that comes with the Wii. Functionally, Nyko's sensor bar works from 25 feet away, a distance double of Nintendo's device.

Nyko's wireless Wii Sensor Bar runs on four AAA batteries and has a 30 hour life. Furthermore, to save on power, it can be customized to be turned off after a certain amount of time. As promising as this all sounds, IGN reports that the clincher here is that details on pricing and availability are yet to be released, so we'll have to wait a bit more to see if this little solution is easy on the wallet.

Of course there are other wallet-friendly alternatives to purchasing Sensor Bar solutions.
