Castlevania for Wii this year, says comic mag - Image 1Talk of a Castlevania game for the Wii has been around for some time now. Koji Igarashi, a prominent name when you're talking about the Castlevania series, revealed last year that it was a possibility, but he didn't give any solid promises.

Some time ago, Konami revealed the existence of Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia for the DS. A move which made some people wonder if we could expect a Castlevania game for the Wii as well. The answer is a resounding "Yes", if a listing for a Castlevania comic book is to be believed.

The listing is for Castlevania: Curse of Darkness, a comic based on the PlayStation 2 game. What we're after though, is in the comic's promo blurb, which enumerated this as one of its key selling points: "Cross-promoted with the 2008 video game releases, which include games for the Nintendo Wii and DS (Fall 2008)."

It 's probably safe to assume the listing is talking about Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia for the DS, as it's slated to be released at around the same time the listing indicated. Can we expect a Wii version for it as well?

im sure it gonna look 4 years old n use wiimote for every action are not use it at all which voids the wiimote completely useless for another game..theres nothing they can do with castlevania on the wii

» Wow...

psn_gamestar: did you even read what you posted before hitting submit? It's almost incomprehensibl e. In any case, what do you mean "there's nothing they can do with castlevania on the wii"? Just because the Wii HAS a wiimote, why in the world does that mean that every game has to make use of it? Sometimes it's just nice to have the IR pointer for menu screens, as it works much better than a d-pad or analogue sticks. Why does everyone think that every Wii game HAS to have motion sensing built in? That's ridiculous and stupid. The Wii has very strong 2d capabilities, and could produce a gorgeous Castlevania game. Why would it look 4 years old exactly? Because the Wii can't push as many polygons as XBox or PS3? It doesn't NEED to for a 2d game.... and we've seen time and time again that Castlevania is best in 2d. So you're point.... if you had one... is completely null and void.

im not really trying to make this an argument im just sayin wat ever castlevania game there going to create 4 the wii could be easily be done on the ps2, hell even the psp and ds i mean if u think the only improvement 360 n ps3 games receives are graphics ur wrong especially if its a good developer like konami they can do wonders but with the wii its gonna be castlevania ds on wii.. And as far as the motion control issue goes i don't blam it on nintendo i blam it on 3rd party developers

» Alright

Sure Castlevania can be done on the consoles you mentioned, but wouldn't it be great to give Wii owners a decent game for once?

And since you said Konami can do wonders (well, they have), they probably sure as hell can make it great on the Wii too.

As imapterodactyl said, every Wii game doesn't need motion sensing to boot, and I agree that it's the 3rd party developer's fault if they screw up on motion controls.

» fair enough....

.... and I apologize for the confrontational tone in my original post. You are correct in stating that the PS3 and 360 are not only more powerful in the graphics department, but in the case of a Castlevania game, that would be the only difference, and then only if the developers decided to try another fully 3D Castlevania (eep). I doubt we'll ever see a Castlevania game with such advanced AI routines etc. that the Wii couldn't handle it perfectly well. When it comes to the classic, predominantly 2D Castlevania style (in which I include Symphony), Wii could easily push it along just as well as any other current system. As for the statement that a new Castlevania could be made just as easily for PS2 as Wii, that's probably mostly correct, and not a problem.... the devs could do what many currently do, and release it for both, increasing the potential audience dramatically. I know that I really wish Dracula X Chronicles (for PSP) had been released for PS2 or Wii as well. Based on your thinking, why would any devs ever release ANYthing on Wii instead of 360/PS3? :)

of course there is nothing they can do with castlevania on wii and it belongs to the 1800 may be what you want is an ultra l33t 4d super ultra hd version ps3 version with so mature theme aka lots and lots of gore probably feature vamp from mgs4 and with snake discovered he is related to a belmont the game will be in 2080p stretching the ps3 hardware beyond the max limit which will make a wii explode if it tries to run it it will be so hd you will be able to count the red blood cells in each drop of blood it will re-define the meaning of having a six axis controller it will feature 2 billion hours of insane detail rendered video and may be 1 nano second of game play

FYI: there is a guy really uses 'zero punctuation' (literally) and he has awesome funny game reviews.

» good question

Why does anyone release anything on the Wii, especially when it can be done (or already has been done) on other systems? Motion control. Yep, that's the only reason, aside from making money off 20 million desperate Wii fans looking for a quality game.

» easy there

You must be really excited if you had a true next gen system with all the QUALITY games coming out for them.
