Yoshiniro Ono - Image 1Street Fighter 4 (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, Arcade) producer Yoshinori Ono was at Capcom's recent Captivate 08 convention where he reiterated that there were no plans to develop a Wii version of this game yet. In addition, he also gave out more details on Seth, one of the new bosses in the game.

During the event Ono said that "we haven't planned for a Wii version yet." It seems that he really wanted to finally put an end to the rumor that they were developing a Wii version of the game. This doesn't really come as a surprise though since the rumor had gotten so much attention that he had to go to Nintendo to apologise for it.

Another thing Ono talked about is Seth, one of the newest boss characters in the game. For those who haven't had "the pleasure" of seeing this character, Ono gave a rather interesting description of him:

If you look at him he's got a kind of expressionless face and a strange skin colour, he has some sort of device embedded in his stomach. He's a unique-looking character, he's clearly not an ordinary human being - there's something going on with this guy

He also noted that this character has a lot of connections to the important characters in the game. He even hinted that this character is partially responsible for the return of M. Bison in Street Fighter 4:

What we need to figure out as players looking at the story is why are Shadowloo back, how did that happen, how and why did Bison come back, and what is Seth's connection to that, and he's very much connected to it.

Finally, we go to the question that a lot of gamers are probably waiting for: Will Seth be a playable character? Well, the answer to that, is a big, fat, maybe. Ono said that if the fans demand it, then it shall be done:

If people express a desire to take control of Seth, we might see a movement in that direction at some point. I certainly don't want to say much more than that - I've already said too much!

I was really hoping SF4 would come to Wii. Oh well ... hopefully they'll work on a WiiWare Street Fighter of some kind in the future.

Maybe someday there COULD be an inferior SF2 port on the Wii, probably a SNES console version. Did you really expect to get a next gen game to come to the Wii?
