Resident Evil 0 - Image 1It has been confirmed by Famitsu that a port of Resident Evil 0 from the Nintendo GameCube to the Nintendo Wii will be released in Japan. However, Biohazard 0 as they call it in the Land of the Rising Sun, may never make its way to the west according to Capcom.

"We currently have no plans to bring the Wii version of Resident Evil 0 to either US or Europe at this point in time. It will most likely be a Japan-only release," Capcom Europe's representative told IGN UK.

Since word broke out regarding the Resident Evil 0 port, negative comments from gamers on message boards spread like wildfire as they wonder why the GameCube title will be ported to the Wii which can play GameCube games.

Capcom's Christian Svensson, vice president of strategic planning and business development, also commented on Capcom's official forums:

There are no plans for a Western release for the title at this time. And now, I'll bet we see all sorts of complaints about that fact, after pages of outrage on this forum and others that the title even exists with people telling us to "go to Hell" or how we "suck".  We simply can not win.

Many enraged gamers would rather see efforts on the port of a game which didn't perform well in 2002 be put into other worthwhile hitters, while some aren't very happy with the cash-ins. On the other hand, considering how Japan loves 'em special editions, we could easily see Japanese fans embracing the Resident Evil 0 port warmly.
