Capcom licenses Epic Games' Unreal Engine 3 for new title - Image 1Capcom announced that they have entered an agreement to license the Unreal Engine 3 from Epic Games.

This is the second time the company licensed the engine, with a similar agreement taking place early last year for a game under development with Capcom's North America studio.

For this particular case, Capcom indicated that the engine was to be used for a yet-to-be identified title currently under development in Europe. Keiji Inafune in particular noted that the company's Europe dev team had thorough knowledge of the engine.

Capcom didn't provide any further details regarding their new mystery title, though we'll be keeping out eyes peeled in case any further updates arrive.

» doubt it, but

it would be awesome with a brand new ONIMUSHA!!!

using that engine for ONI, i could very well imagine, fighting in a desert like place, with dust everywhere, and with shiny armor and a huge bloody muramasa, fighting thousands of demons, from the small scary/grotesque ones, to the gigantic and club-woelding ones!

would be damn awesome, i really hope that they atleast THOUGHT of it!

though i doubt it!

» Ugh

Dammit! Unreal Engine 3..

Whatever it is.. its going to suck on PS3 and likely be delayed at that.

With any luck, it will just be a Wii exclusive game.

» clueless

Wouldnt I have to OWN an Xbox to be an 'Xbot' as you claim?

Just because you're clueless about the problems the Unreal Engine has caused for PS3 development, doesnt mean the problems dont exist. Just a couple weeks ago, Last Remnant was announced to be delayed on PS3 because of the Unreal Engine.

Get a *****ing clue before you open your mouth and stop defaulting to the fanboy argument when a genuine Sony customer has a problem with the service, or lack thereof he or she receives.

In fact, just STFU altogether.

» What is Capcom thinking??

Silicon Knights is sueing Epic games because they have been dragging their feet for a year instead of providing dev support for the Unreal Engine 3 like they were paid to do...So now Capcom is going to invite the same problems, lol. Maybe a year from now it will be a class action suit?

» i guess

maybe Capcom liked what they have experienced on the development of their first Unreal Engine 3 game (is it Bionic Commando?) and now they want another?

Perhaps Perhaps Perhaps
