Capcom Logo - Image 1 Capcom, the creators of some of the most prolific games to hit the market, has recently licensed the Unreal Engine 3. They will be using this for a yet to be announced project that they're currently developing. This is a surprising revelation since Capcom is known for its fighting games (Street Fighter II) and hits like Resident Evil and Devil May Cry. It's still a mystery though where it will be using the Unreal Engine, but when Capcom finally gives word on what it's working on, we'll be sure to give you the news.

» well

well they cud use the engine for their resident evil and devil may cry games, since resi 4 uses almost the same view in gears of war, it wud be obvious why they wud wanna use the unreal 3 engine

They could use it for powerstone remake, really the engine is usuable for any type of game.

This is kinda good to see, so many companies adopting the engine. It's a good engine, and will reduce the number of crap(looking) games...although, you could make a crap looking game, but you'd have to TRY.

» Multiplat

If they get UE3 license is because they are aiming to a lot of multiplat games in the future. No more shooters please .

Hopefully CAPCOM will not be acquired by MS, if MS already is getting a stream of AAA titles from CAPCOM, why to buy it? It can be only to keep the most important CAPCOM franchises away from SONY, typical MS strategy.

» Ummm...

since when was Capcom being bought by Microsoft? Link please.

» Yep, its typical

very much destroying competitors using bare brute force (money), there are many examples of this. I'm not sure it will work this time, because SONY is not a little company they can destroy so easy. And I sure SONY is prepared for a hard fight in every front, an interesting one to watch.

» Only a rumor

till now, I expect it keep like that.

» Idea

Rockman DASH 3 would work well, as third person shooter translates nicely in the Unreal engine.

» you

are stupid. Gears of War borrows heavily from Resident Evil 4! and omg dude, your sentence infuriated me. I actually got pissed from your stupidity. But I'll stay calm...for now...

I thought one of the guys from epic said that Wii isn't powerful enough for unreal engine 3....
