Candles for Wii sensor bar |
Ó
How's this for resourcefulness and innovativeness? With all the news coming out on how replaceable and dispensable the Wii's sensor bar is, here's a ray of sunshine, er-- candles, heading your way. This vid from breakdancecrew over at YouTube apparently shows the Wii sensor bar already disposed of, and instead, in its place lies two burning candles. Yup, you read it, and viewed it right. Those are wax candles taking the place of the sensor bar. And surprisingly, it works.
Don't ask how, don't ask why. Just sit back, relax, and appreciate.

Who really cares if you can use candles? Is it really that hard to just put the sensor bar up and leave it alone? Is anybody really going to take the extra effort to go light some damn candles to play a game? Your better off calling the Wii Nintendo homo if thats the case.
Its not about the laziness of not plugging in it, the point of the topic is to show other useful items that are neat to try out. Like dont put the xmas tree near your tv. the remote will be all screwy.
this was posted days ago in the forums. the sensor bar is needed for games despite earlier qj news on it not. the sensorbar is just a set of 8 lights that emitt IR light used by the wiimote to triangulate where it is in refference to the tv, its just lights and powered by a current from the wii nothing techncail about it, candles work because they emitt infrared light and as long as u have an infrared object strong enough to stand out in the area and opton of the tv the wiimote will be able to guess its position.
Well it was still pretty Damn cool ......what if you have another infared source...(i dont know any but you could tell me at www.freewebs.com/metroidkiller1_2006/ just put it in the guest book) anyways it was pretty cool but if the candle was deep you had to point the Wii-mote (when you are standing up) down into the candle....if you were sitting down you had to stand up to play.....but thats besides the point. MetroidKiller
I've done this before. It's pretty cool. Just make sure that the Wiimote can see the actual flame.
