Camp out, Canada: PS3/Wii pre-orders coming |
Ó
The last time I remember camping out in a line would be for the sixth book of "Harry Potter," but when the sun rises over Canada this Monday, October 16, lots of people will surely be out in deck chairs, sleeping bags, and with cans of beer. EBGames finally announced that they will start accepting PS3 and Wii pre-orders on Monday in a first-come-first-serve basis.
They're warning people that they will only be able to issue a limited number of pre-orders, and only one unit per household. From what's happened this week, EBGames is expecting to run out of pre-orders in a matter of minutes. They're also recommending that you phone your local EBGames branch and ask about the availability of the pre-order. Apparently, not all Canadian branches will have it, so you better double check before leaving the house. CA$50 (around US$43) in trade or a CA$200 (US$175) cash/credit reservation deposit is required.
So. If you really want to make sure that you bag yourself a pre-order for either console (or both!), then you'd want to camp out the night before. Maybe even as early as the day before.

Sure, I could sit in the mall all sunday night and miss a day on monday at college so I can get a reserved wii (or ps3), but does it worth it? I mean, you can get it at launch day is you wake up early on sunday morning and go to best buy or future shop (talking here for the wii, forget about the ps3...first batch is always a bit risky, especially at 600$)
USA crazy gamer country..i just walked into GAME in cornwall and preordered mine 5 days after they rang me =P
so do u basically have to put down 200$ for a PS3 or a Wii. cause thats what i got from this article. 200$ seems like a lot for the Wii considering its a third the price of a PS3.
In any event ill be at my local EB to preorder my PS3.
Man, if somebody were to camp out in the Canadian weather now (6-7C in the Kingston Area), they deserve it. I'll come about 30mins or an hour early max.
Oh Canada!
Our home and native land!:P
True patriot love!
And all thy sons command!
Etc.... Etc...
Montreal doesn't seem to be housing any of the EB games stores that are giving preorders. This bites..
Nov 17 will be a circus.
it seems every one preorder ps3..and I havent wat to do?
