The winter sports have officially begun! No, we're not referring to the kind of winter sports involving skis and bobsleds. We're talking about the kind of urban winter sports involving thousands of buyers trying to tackle the rush of holiday shopping. Well, last minute shopping has always entailed this hassle, after all. And when you're talking about last minute shopping, you can't get any more final than this.
We've been getting reports that the last shipment of PS3 and Wii units before Christmas will arrive this weekend. That would mean that, for those wishing their fellowmen a Merry PS3/Wii Christmas, this could possibly be their last shot at being able to cash in the much-in-demand consoles. The catch is, these reports talk of "expected" shipments. And when you expect something, that doesn't necessarily mean that it's solidly confirmed.
Here's the lowdown: many stores, including Toys "R" Us and Circuit City, are already expecting a sizable stock of Wii consoles and an additional shipment of PS3 units. The retailers and manufactures haven't really specified when the consoles would arrive or how many, exactly. However, American Technology Research analyst PJ McNealy has something to say about this - he says that retailers will be "trapping inventory" for Sunday, and that "realistically will be the last big shopping day of the year. I expect people to start camping out on Saturday again."
Ohnoes. Did someone just say "camp out?" If all this holds true, it's time to line up! Just keep in mind that, before you do get your sleeping bags and tents ready, make sure you call ahead and confirm if your local branch will get stocks for this weekend.
We don't want to raise any cause for alarm - we don't want to be called rumormongers or fearmongers or whatever, but you have a right to know these reports, and y'know there's always that "what if..."

There is not a console in this universe worth camping out for. I think patience is the best policy when looking to buy electronics.
How many people here would camp out to make an easy $2000.
If you think your making $2k profit on a Wii or a PS3 you are sadly mistaken.
The Wiis for the 17th are ALREADY IN STOCK. I got my Wii from the EB Games shipment that was MEANT for the 17th, but I got it before the clerks knew they weren't supposed to sell it yet. This shipment came in on the 11th. GET IN LINE!
If the stores are saying they will be having them when they open on Sunday it means they already have them and are just waiting to release them to stop the unrelenting phone calls to the stores where employees have to answer with "we don't know really"s.
Im on a preorder list for the 29th but I'm stillcamping out to get a WII for myself before that, but your dumb if you think you can make $2000

Have been getting regular shipments of wii's and PS3's every friday....although not many, so maybe this is another major re-stock ?
I have confirmed with 7 different Target employees that Target will have Wii's on Sunday!

Yea, i just called my target and they said they would definatly be getting some in. they wouldnt tell me how many but it dosent matter to me, imma be camping out eather way.
