Rat-at-at-cat - Image 1We know the game's supposed to hit sometime this fall, but Activision have thus far been tight lipped about a specific release date for Call of Duty: World at War. Gentlemen, gather round, we've narrowed it down to November... maybe. Perhaps.

Why maybe? Where'd this news come from? Hit the jump, details within.

So here's the skinny, all the folks at Only The Games would say was that an unnamed Activision rep at X'08 (Microsoft's Canadian holiday showcase for the Xbox platform) told them the game would in fact be in gamers hands this November. So it's a case of he said she said then, brilliant! Naturally it should be assumed that this nameless (and hopefully faceless too) representative was referring to the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game, however it seems likely the Wii version will hit day and date.

Hopefully we'll get official word soon, but until then I'm thinkin' just before Turkey Day sounds about right. I offer my sincere apologies for the use of "rat-at-at-cat.jpg".

mmm

i always expected it to hit november im not sure if i read it in a previous article or anything to presume from it, it could also just have been that cod4 came out in november anyway isnt november a winter month? also i really wish that this game didnt come out for the wii for 2 reasons 1, to me the wii is a party system and always will be, it doesnt have stunning graphics or power, sure that doesnt make a game next gen, but it sure aswell helps 2, i loved cod3 on the wii, because of the wiimote, even though i loved the wii version, id probably still buy the ps3, as thats my main console in the house and i dont buy the same game for both versions, it sucks its a huge shame that sony hasnt tapped into the wiimote, by providing a new way to handle the bluetooth remotes this way we can get the best of both systems, and sony could getaway without any legal issues then again it may be un fair to the reflexes etc of using different controllers, and it might take away from the ps3

hmm

Actually winter starts in December so November is a fall month. I thought that the PS3 version of COD3 used the sixaxis well but never played the Wii version to compare. Either way, as it stands right now with this game coming out a week after R2, I don't see the PS3 version doing as well as it could. When you have two great games coming out so close to each other either one will completely fail or both will struggle to live up to their predecessors.

I'm waiting for reviews...

on this one. COD4, a fluke for me...I usually hate playing FPS games.
