How could we resist posting such a tempting offer? Besides, everyone here needs a couple of laughs every now and then. Now, does anyone here want to buy a bag of popcorn for US$ 355? No, wait... [double checks] sorry, it's already up to US$ 380!
You must be thinking people at eBay must be crazy for paying that much for a bag of popcorn from Target. Well, that's not the only thing. If you win the bid, not only do you get the popcorn, but the auctioner will also pitch in a Wii for free! Oh, and an empty soda cup with (in her words) a "BIG RED STRAW!!!"
How could you say no? The story here goes that the auctioner had spent a vacation with her family standing in line at Fort Lauderdale for the November 19 Wii launch. Here are excerpt from her bidding page:
The winner will be the only person in the WORLD with a used to be fresh bag of popcorn and Target soda cup and don't forget the BIG RED STRAW. and yes the free Wii system. I will be... guarding them with my husband's life to ship to winner of this very dumb auction. all items wrapped then boxed, extra special care given to the BIG RED STAW. oh yes the free Wii system too. thats why winner of my famous bag of popcorn and soda cup with BIG RED STRAW that comes with target receipt to show authenticity, also will receive a Nintendo Wii.
Hilarious. We swear, you got to see the page itself. We haven't done it justice above. She might say it's a dumb auction, but we don't think so. Funny, yes. But definitely not dumb. At the rate that people are bidding, this BIG RED STRAW (and free Wii system too) could go up for more than US$ 500!
