Beware: Nintendo Wii stolen while with United States Postal Service - Image 1Here's something you certainly don't want to happen to you, especially during this time of the year. Kathy Green, a woman from Columbus, Georgia, had her Nintendo Wii console stolen while it was under the care of the United States Postal Service (USPS).

According to the report, Green was able to find the console on eBay. When the packaged arrived, however, she noticed that the box was torn open and that the Wii is already missing.

“It looks like someone ripped it backwards,” commented the customer. Post office officials, on the other hand, said that while they were sure that the package's weight was heavier at some point, they cannot ascertain when and where the problem happened. USPS Customer Service Manager Michael Matthews shared:

ItÂ’s hard to tell where in the system it got opened up or where it actually happened. Package your articles correctly, make sure theyÂ’re secure, be sure that you have an address on the inside of the package as well as the outside of the package.

Since Green had the package insured, she will be sure to receive a reimbursement for her money. Bot the problem is that local post offices only automatically refunds damaged and stolen goods if the price is under US$ 50. Anything more than that and a process with a corporate office must be initiated which will take about one whole month.

I wonder how it was packaged

I wonder how obvious the packaging was? I wonder if this could have been prevented by placing the Wii inside a bigger more "inconspicuous" box.

The Wii has many violent games like the others, they're just done too poorly to be interesting. Take Manhunt 2 for instance.

good

Somebody just did her a favor. It's ok MCS...lighthearted fun is overrated. Hacking and killing is where it's at.

I thought about that too.

When I read this article, the first thought that came to my mind was "How the hell did they know it was a Wii inside the package?"

.

The Wii seller probably scammed them and blamed it on the postal service. That's ebay for ya! Why are these things still selling for over $400?????? Anyone?????

it might be a scam but...

My friend stole a PS3 360 before he quite and the way he knew that it was a console was that the people have to write what the item is in the box and some people just send in the original packaging

To Sam

Dude that's BS! I send stuff USPS all the time and you DON'T have to list what is inside. The only time you have to describe is when you sent internationally. And even then, you can just put "Video Game" to make it as vague as possible.

@ Billie

ok if you say console how does that make a difference people wont care if it is a Wii PS3 or 360 or what ever
