Behold! The Wii Power Supply

Wii Power SupplyWe recently featured a lot of photos of the Wii which were taken at some foreign demonstration event. Well, there were a lot of pics in that one, but it seems that the Wii's power supply is a bit camera shy. We caught a picture of the Nintendo Wii's power supply which has an uncanny resemblance to that of the Cube.

The next-gen gaming console war is indeed heating up, and this time it looks like we've stumbled upon a next-gen power supply size war. The Xbox 360 is already boasting its power brick and the mighty Sony was also considering taking the power module out of the case, to improve the temperature. If you could recall, we earlier featured one of many Ken Kutaragi interviews wherein he hinted on the possibility of an external power supply.

The heat is on indeed, no pun intended. But what do you think about this new development? Tell us what's in your mind through your comments.

» ummm exactly liek the 360

"atleast it's not like the 360 one."

what a dimbass.. this is one is just a little lighter gray.. otherwise just liek the 360...

» Who cares?

Even the SNES had an external power supply, so who cares?

» Wow...

Have you guys already seen the Wii's power supply, or something? This is news.

by Spence - 2006-07-02 09:21
» Wait

will this like take up a hell of alot of power and almost double our power bill like the 360 does?

by Kitt - 2006-07-02 09:30
» A power supply is... a power supply.

Cool to see, any little tid bit is always fun, but it is just a power supply. Of course, I suppose this is a testement to how much hardcore gamers really care about their system "winning". We've even extended our expectations onto the power supply now XD

It looks fine to me, and so does the 360's. If the machine turns on, and my power supply doesn't catch fire, then I'm happy.

» dont give a f***

so what with the power supply, anywya for my GC I can't see it, it's behind my tv so...

But I hope the ps3's powersupply ( if it's external ) will NOT overheat like the x360!! and I also hope it's not THAT big lol.

anyway the wii's power supply cannot be big, the console power is not even good, it's more "special" then "power"! anyway nobody cared for the GC so why talk about it...

by Vecha - 2006-07-02 17:16
» lol

"will this like take up a hell of alot of power and almost double our power bill like the 360 does?"

A vaccum cleaner...A/C...Refridgerator...and the comp you are typing on uses more power then the 360....

unless you have none of those(including no lights) then yes...maybe it would jump your power bill....If you aren't *****ing using any electricity to begin with.

by Chavagnatze - 2006-07-03 03:01
» They are just power supplies people!

The Xbox need very clean power that is why its power supply is big. You open up your Xboxes all the time so why not open your power supply one time to see why it is big. Why not do a Xbox power supply mod to put an outlet on it to power some other stuff.

» @4

Are you blind or something. It looks nothing like the 360 power supply, going by the picture its at least 1/2 the size of the 360 PSU. If not even smaller.

by Spence - 2006-07-10 17:44
» ...

Well when i got my 360 my power bill went up 50 bucks unlike the other systems did to me.
