Bargain opportunity: US$ 50 Nintendo Wii

Nintendo Wii - Image 1GameFly has this promo where you have to persuade five friends to sign up to them and in return, they'll send you a free Wii six weeks later. We know that a lot of you aren't desperate enough to have people sign up to something that they don't want to get into, but The Last Boss ran an article that seemed to make sense if you want the Nintendo console at the low price of fifty bucks.

A tipster named Mark apparently gave five of his friends ten bucks apiece and had them sign up to GameFly's cheapest subscription deal. He then followed the procedure and in six weeks, he had the wonder box even if his cohorts dumped the subscription. Mark says GameFly didn't even require him to send cash for shipping. Very, very cool if this is indeed true.

Of course, there's very little we can do to verify if this is a factual account, but it's a pretty nice little scam to pull off. Maybe some of you can try it and tell us what happened. Then again, you may want to hang on to your fifty bucks and buy a new game or something.

Eventually word of this plan will spread to Gamefly, and they'll change the rules.

But Gamefly customers, think about it before you do this: every time someone does, Gamefly is out 200 bucks. That will add up and compromise the company, thus compromising the service. If you enjoy Gamefly's service, don't endanger it.
