Gametrailers is running the Bonus Round show again, as David Jaffe sat down with industry experts Michael Pachter, N'gai Croal, Billy Berghammer and Shane Satterfield to talk about third-party publishers and games.Electronic Arts (EA), being a major third-party publisher that churns out more titles than we can count per year, was definitely a hot topic. Harmonix' Rock Band is going to rock the world, no doubt about it. The big dilemma Satterfield sees is how the peripherals will be priced to make it sell. Will a phenomenal game come at a phenomenal price?
It's no secret that Guitar Hero appealed to both hardcore and casual gamers alike. Croal believes that hardcore fans will dish out money to purchase the full experience Rock Band has to offer, while their casual friends will walk in to play along before deciding to get their own set of peripherals.
EA also boasts of other long running franchises, but analysts find faults in the giant company's business model. New titles are going for EA because they want new IPs, but Pachter sees their attempts to be creative as not strong enough. EA kills new IPs that don't work, which still limits new franchises according to Pachter.
Ubisoft is unavoidable when speaking of third-parties. Analysts find Ubisoft to be very inventive, which will put pressure on EA. Assassin's Creed is currently a big question mark, but everyone expects it to be very big.
Grand Theft Auto IV is another title that is said to break boundaries and become phenomenal. Analysts have agreed that Rockstar doesn't even need to hype the game to sell like hotcakes, and seeing GTA IV on E3 is unlikely. Pachter, however, thinks that Halo 3's release might weaken GTA IV sales, which will come out three weeks after. He added that Xbox owners aren't GTA players, and Halo fans will be too indulged in their game to even bother with GTA IV.
Finally, Metal Gear Solid 4: The Guns of the Patriots. They called it the killer app, the game, the pinnacle of Sony's hardware that will show what their machine is all about, the one that will prove that the PlayStation 3 is beyond Xbox 360's reach; in other words, it's the third-party title you can't miss.

MS will announce that MGS4 will be coming to 360. Konami developers have already stated that the game can run on the 360. Also look out for some Halo 3 single player campaign video. It will raise the bar on graphics for next gen titles.

Seriously, Hideo Kojima himself said that MGS4 was tailored to the PS3 and would not be able to run on the 360 and has stated that it will be on the PS3 only! So keep dreaming.

X360 yes, it has GeOW and Halo 3, those are only hits, Halo Wars is just a copy, but I'd rather play that than Halo 3. MGS4 IS NOT coming to X360, Kojima said that it's not possible on any other system. Those were *****ing rumors, so please inform @ yourselves before slakcing ***** like that anywhere. I personally (being an opinion) think Warhawk is a lot of fun. It is easy to get into and a lot of fun to play. Plus, with the incredibly easy way for people to jump in and play, it is a great game to play with other people. So trust me, its a good game, nothing OMG this is the best game over, but it is a lot of fun.

Funny how some ps3 fans complain that 360 my have more than one disc for a big game. I bet none of them played FF7 or many great ps1 games cause it had too many disc's for their small *****. Who gives a flying $%$^ if it has more than one disc? On the other hand I know for a fact that the ps3 will have better graphics, its hardware IS and ALWAYS will be better to the 360. But of course its up to the game developers to decide to use that potential which they haven't yet. MGS4 maybe only for the ps3 and I want to play it badly, but I'm not paying $600 for ONE game. It's amusing how so many Sony fanboys are using "fanboy" as an insult to 360 gamers. The PS3 had several exclusives taken from them by Microsoft. Devil May Cry? Resident Evil? GTA IV? Haze? (Now only a timed exclusive) Silent Hill? Unreal Tournament? Now they're all shared! Microsoft was able to steal so much of Sony's thunder. Sony has been scraping for ideas ever since '05, when they finally realized that they would have REAL competition for once. Sixaxis? Ripped from the Wii. Home? The Mii channel was first. Home does seem nice, and very interactive, but creating your own character on your system and having "trophies" for your achievements are direct rip offs of Nintendo and Microsoft. The 360 has it's fair shares of good games out and on the way. What with Blue Dragon, Gears of War, Mass Effect, Bioshock, Halo 3, Too Human, Fable 2, Halo Wars, Alan Wake, and several others. Also, if a game ends up on the PC, then it's still going to Windows. You know? WINDOWS? Microsofts OS? You're still supporting Microsoft. The PS3 still has a few exclusives left, and a lot of promise. It's failure rate is INCREDIBLY low, and it has potential to do more than just game (like the PSP). But with poor console sales and Microsoft's already established base, it's likely that more exclusives could find their way to the 360. MGS4 is unlikely, but you never really know anymore.
I had disc read error on my PS2 after 2 1/2 years and bought a new one. Later I had it fixed. BY ME! I never heard of sony fixing out of warranty systems, even for a fee. How much do they charge for that?

How come Halo is the most popular in tournaments, its because its a blast to play, with friends, against rivals, and in close matches where anyone could win. Those are the fundamentals to a good game and Halo delivers every time. I know what these experiences are like and if you put your heart into it and win you get this insane rush of accomplishment and it just makes you feel great. To me, if a game can deliver emotions such as these then it is truly great.
My ps2 broke and Sony fixes it, and I only pay to ship it out to Sony and they pay the return shipping. I got my ps2 by the year 2001 and it broke at the end of 2003. And forgot to tell you I broke my ps2 by open it to try to clean the lens. And I did that to try to make the system to read the games faster. And Sony still fixes it for free with warranty seal broken and 3 years old system and charge no money to fix it.
